A few weeks back 10 ladies joined me to paint silk scarves. Each student left with two hand painted scarves. It was a four hour class, and we enjoyed lunch together, as well as some refreshing sangria.
The first method was applying the dye to the scarf in a small plastic container, which gave the scarf a hand dyed look, with a lot less mess.
For the second scarf they stretched their scarves on a plastic frame and painted the dyes on with a brush.
The results were fabulous! Each one was very unique and beautiful.
Eight of the ladies then displayed their scarves in an art show, in the community of Bahama Palm Shores.
At that show I took a scarf on a frame so visitors could try their hand at it and create a community scarf.
Fun was had by all. I think their community scarf came out pretty good!
