Happy 2015! I have lots of new things in store for Bahama Dawn. First of all I will be starting *Open Studio* on January 19th, 9am – 1pm. This will be a time where you can come and catch up on missed classes, get help with a non-class project you are working on, just come and work in the studio with other creative souls, shop for fabric, look at class samples, pay for a class, buy a gift. If you stay to work I am charging a small fee of $10. You do not have to stay for the entire time I am open, you can come and go as you please. Just remember I will be there to help, but you will not have my undivided attention, like you do in a regular class.
At some Open Studios I will be demoing a technique {it might not always be quilt/sewing related}. After the demonstration, if you wish to participate, you can for a small kit fee. Be sure and sign up for the newsletter to get more details each week about the Open Studio.
This Saturday, January 17th from 10am – 3pm I will be at a new market event in Treasure Cay. There are about 14 vendors with everything from hand-made goods to gourmet food items to exotic plants. It will be on the green space right in front of the marina.
The weekend of January 23rd I will be at Art for the Parks with a booth of new goodies. On the Saturday and Sunday I will be offering some Make It Take It options. On the Saturday you can come and paint your own pottery piece. I will take it to the studio, fire it for you, and deliver it within a week, or so.
On the Sunday at Art for the Parks the Make It Take It will be a Paint Your Own Silk Scarf. The silk scarf will be stretched on a frame for you and you can paint away at your heart’s content to make a beautiful hand painted scarf.
The times for Art for the Parks are Friday, January 23rd 6pm – 9pm; Saturday, January 24th 10am – 6pm; Sunday, January 25th 11am – 3pm. I am still deciding the times for the Make It Take It, but will announce it here and on my Facebook page when that is finalized.
I will have lots of new items so don’t forget to stop by and see my booth.
I am still trying to get the class schedule finalized. If there is something you would like to learn please message me or email me and let me know.
